Kayaking in La Jolla
We put on our life jackets and helmets and off we went to kayak the caves and cove of La Jolla.
We were told stories about each of the 7 caves and were lucky enough to journey into one of the caves.
No sea lions came up to us, but we did paddle up near some dolphins (aka ‘gay sharks) who were rounding up their lunch.
The scariest part? Getting ready for the paddle back in to the beach. You sit there waiting for your turn and watch a number of kayaks capsize as the surf eats them up. You don’t realise how important it is to stay inside the kayak until you’ve felt the temperature of the ocean here. COLD!
Don’t worry, we made it back to shore safe and sound. Caught a wave all the way in!
If you’re visiting San Diego this should be on your list of things to do!
